My Alienware M11x | Love at first touch
icy; Wednesday, March 24, 2010Reads: 309

What a machine! This little 11" devil packs more punch than my 17" animosity gaming laptop. It's small, it's sharp, it's fast and it is the cutest, darndest, most maverick joe 11" there is.

So far, what I love:

1. Two discrete graphics adapters. When you want power and extremity, function + f6 and voila. 1GB of raw power in the form of Nvidia GeForce GT 335M is at your fingertips. When you want more juice and don't need to chase demons to the gates of hell, you turn it off and be happy with the Intel's embedded graphics unit. Brilliant!

2. Speaking of brilliance. What a screen. Amazingly sharp 720p WLED screen is just, well, for lack of a better word: sharp :)

3. Keyboard is amazing. With customizable back lighting, it's fast, accurate and easy to type with. Keys are full sized and it's way better than all of its pathetic netbook brethren.

4. Customizable nameplate at the bottom is just superb. Yeap, it's got my clan name on it. [SokSa] Icy. I love it!

5. It's under 4 pounds. I don't know what else to say.

Now, whoever created that face-recognition login technology is the spawn of the devil. It works when it wants to and how it wants to. When it does, it's like magic. When it does not, you become a recess monkey infront of a small laptop doing weird faces going back and forth.

I have not setup any hardcore games yet. I am still enjoying the bright colors of the screen and the keyboard.

Did I tell you that this thing is 11"? Holy crap. What is this, black magic? What the?!? How on earth?

I've been coding this site for myself since 2004. It will never be complete. I have accepted this. I'll always take one look at any part of it and wonder why I did what I did the way I did it and not this other way that could've been, not necessarily better, but, what if... Or some new framework will be released and I will be tempted to use the "new" one instead of the old one. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There is much truth to these words.

"A tailor can never mend his own dress." - Turkish proverb.
